Final results of the 3rd Citizens’ Budget: 67 projects to be implemented
The votes are in! No fewer than 67 projects funded by Burgerbegroting Maastricht (Maastricht Citizens' Budget) will be carried out in 2025. During the digital voting round and the closing event at Stadsbeheer, residents chose 36 projects. The successful submitters were informed of the results at a celebratory gathering at City Hall. By the end of 2024, it had already been announced that 31 feasible projects from the theme ‘Stronger together’ would also be realised.

In total, €819.651,27 will be distributed among the 67 projects.
Many votes
For the first time, it was possible to vote online—a great success, with 11,511 votes submitted. At the closing event at Stadsbeheer on 1 February 2025, an additional 2,214 votes were cast. Altogether, 13,725 votes were cast for this edition.
The closing event at Stadsbeheer also drew a large crowd, with nearly 800 people of all ages visiting the information market. Submitters showcased their projects, Stadsbeheer staff demonstrated their workshops and garages, and visitors could discover ways to make the city greener, more active, more social and more creative.
Proud of the outcome
“The combination of online and in-person voting worked extremely well this year,” said Manon Fokke, member of the municipal executive for citizen participation. “I’m thrilled to see such energy and engagement in this edition, and I’m especially proud that nearly 800 people went out of their way to cast their votes.”
